Our Top Three Marvel Characters

With Thor Love and Thunder coming to theaters, we thought it would be fun to count down our top 5 favorite Marvel characters here at Horrible Shirts. Our favorites will also be characters we enjoy them interacting with, and why we love them so much! A few honorable mentions before we start, SHIELD is such an important part of the MCU and they truly are everywhere. Not to mention their logo is super cool, how could we not make a shirt for it? Eternals was a… well it had great actors in it! And the movie dealt with morals and guilt really well. Last but not least, another MCU group is Runaways. Their TV show was pretty good, and we got a good focus on a young generation of kids rising up and standing for what they believe in, something we see a lot these days. With those out of the way, let’s move on to our top 5!

Starting off with everyone’s favorite, the God of Mischief. Loki is such a good character, we see him struggle with jealousy of his brother, feeling out of place due to his adoption and magic, and finally, growing into himself with confidence. Though his name never became the title of a movie, Loki did become one of the first Marvel TV shows to air solely on Disney+. The show was so highly anticipated, that our Loki logo shirt was actually a best seller during that time. And the show really did Loki’s character justice, finally delving into the complex character he is and getting to see his key characteristics through the other variants of him.

Next, we just have to talk about Black Widow, otherwise known as Natasha Romanoff. She only recently got her own movie, and it was pushed back many times due to the pandemic until Disney+ came out and released it in June of 2021. Romanoff was part of the original six Avengers and has had many appearances in the MCU, her first being Iron Man 2. She’s always been a personal favorite because I was so happy to see a strong female superhero who also didn’t shy away from her femininity. My love for the character increased when I saw Black Widow, the movie pulled at my heartstrings, especially because I am a big sister myself. Natasha Romanoff will forever be a favorite character.

Obviously, a Marvel character list can’t be complete without the man himself, Tony Stark. Iron Man started off the MCU with his first title movie, followed by three more Iron Man movies. The self-proclaimed “Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist” starts off as a cocky and self-destructive person until he is forced to face death on multiple occasions. By the end of his story arc, Stark becomes someone willing to sacrifice himself for the people he loves and ends up dying for the greater good. A fun fact about Tony Stark is that he has a Ben and Jerry flavor in the MCU called Stark Raving Hazelnuts. I wish we had that flavor in this universe!

And with that, our list comes to a close! We are big fans of the MCU and we love all the characters, but these are the ones we have shirts for… which may mean they are our favorites. There are still other Marvel shirts in our shop though. We have a shirt for both the Winter Soldier and Captain America, along with Captain Carter, another strong female lead.
